The sailors of Chandos lake Sailing Club are sending a warm ‘welcome’ to people of all ages on the lake with a sailboat, sailboard or catamaran of any size to join us this summer on our race days. Certainly there is a little competitive nature in all of us but our races are more about a chance to sail with other like minded sailors, practice those tacks, perhaps learn something new, and get together at the socials following the races to enjoy a really fun group of enthusiastic folks. We are all noticing more and more sailing vessels appearing at docks around the lake and we are eager to meet you. Won’t you please join us?

As always wind conditions provide some interesting challenges, frustrations, or real exhilaration on the water and the socials a lot of enthusiastic and fun time together.

The Chandos Lake Sailing Club schedules 5 races during July and August, each followed by a social at someone's cottage.  They are always fun and well attended, where members replay the nuances of the race. Friends and family are welcome to attend these events.   The cost is $20 per person for the season or $5 per race which covers the cost of equipment, banners, ribbons and nibblies for the socials (payment can be made afterwards, at the social). We welcome family and visiting friends to join us and ask for a donation of $2 per person to help cover costs.

Sailing crew are always in demand, so if you sail but don’t have a boat and would enjoy crewing for a race please contact Sue Walkovich at 416 571-3282(text) or email

All levels of sailing expertise come out to enjoy the wind in their sails. Racers should be at the course area by ‪1:15 p.m. to register with the committee boat and also make sure they are informed of the direction of the race!

Racing rules/information will be added soon to this site.
